Undefeated

The wasp hugs a white seascape abdomen bobbing across plaster waves and whorls wings cellophane thin and flooded with light suspended above the lightbulb it dances like a fuckboy from sting-tipped warhead to frantic fragile mouthparts forelegs wringing out prayers it darts, drops, dives to the sun in the lampshade up to the black cliff's edge the bookshelf  where the spiderwebs of dozens dead lace and interlace its feet catch in the strands where stranded fly husks hang alongside the closed hands of the weavers who drank dry their captives but died anyway and like a madman battering at the gates arms milling dus

...

I want to thank everyone who has written to me over the last few days. Whether it was positive or negative, I appreciate encountering real passion in whatever form it takes. I wrote what is below in response to a thoughtful comment I received, and felt it might be worth sharing with anyone who comes across my page in the days to come. Change can be difficult, I really do understand this. It's especially difficult because this update is such a large one. Usually updates are rolled out more incrementally on networks like ours, so the differences are less glaring. Unfortunately the old version of DA did not get this steady diet of modifications over the years, so this redesign feels a little more jarring as we give the site it's first rejuvenation in many years. We've written personal and public statements saying we're listening to concerns but honestly they mainly fall on deaf ears. I get why too - take an instance where people ask for a change or a feature and we totally agree and

How to Make Buttons and Links in Devart Eclipse

EDIT: I have a suggestion/idea at the bottom that could nearly bring our customization wishes somewhat back to fruition, have a look at the bottom! ================================================ Okay so we are all in agreement that the website is a shitshow, you can't link people to anything from the front page whatsoever. If you need any form of outsourced link, you are shit out of luck now. So I spent some time looking for ways to dance around this and I wanted to share. If we have to live with it, we are going to abuse every loophole available. I swear to god I am going to rip this front page a new one and find every trick I can :sta

Once Upon a Time...

The pages from our childhood Seep ink into our minds Calligraphy and oil paint Sketch “Once Upon a Time”s. So we long to live a story Worthy of growing old, Worthy of quills and parchment, Of pages gilded gold. For some it seems so easy, For princesses and knights, To run into adventure, To pick the noble fights. Yet, dragons that breathe fire, An old and wicked witch, Have no power to dishearten Like a skeptic’s bait-and-switch. The magic of a story, Is not in words of ink, It’s not in singing maidens, Or potions you can drink. It’s in the fascination Of secret worlds unknown, Of sheer impossibility, Of lov

Within The Silence

Within The Silence Sometimes I find myself quite caught up in a web of silence. When this happens, the sound of such silence surrounds me too securely. And it is DEAFENING. In this brutally deafening silence, my now-meek mind wanders. And it does not wander well. Where does it go, but to the farthest reaches, And parts unknown. I feel off-kilter, slightly sickened in such a state, since I sense I'm lost. Think.  Think!  THINK! I bring myself back slightly, with one word, To conceive of a different sound. What is missing from this meager mind? What do I need to proceed to a different route? Like a light switch, I hear a click ; It

Found: Running Shoes, new, abandoned

Duckpond There’s something relieving about the sound of my shoes hitting the abandoned asphalt that gets me going. This is my nightly routine. Sneakers and a 3-mile lap around the city, well, around the town, really. Barely anyone lives in this dying town. I count the number of empty houses as I run. Seven out of eleven. Up another one from next week. I think about the guy who lived there: an older man with three kids; all of whom moved out to do better things long before I moved here.   “Seem’s like you’re having a fun night.”  I hear on my left. With a town like this, you get to know everyone pretty well. Eve
